Oscars 2025: Suriya, Bobby Deol's Film Listed among the Contenders

By Media Infotainment Team | Wednesday, 08 January 2025

The Siruthai Siva-directed film "Kanguva" was one of the most eagerly awaited Indian productions of 2024. There was a lot of excitement since Bobby Deol was playing the antagonist in his Tamil debut, while Suriya, a Tamil superstar, was playing two roles. Disha Patani, a Bollywood beauty, was opposite him.

However, after a month of its premiere, Kanguva had a bad box office performance, thus it moved digital and appeared on OTT. It was one of the most expensive Indian films ever made, at a budget of between Rs 300 and Rs 350 crore, yet it only made Rs 106 crore and was a disaster.
