L2: Empuraan has created immense excitement among fans because it marks the release of a long-awaited Malayalam film featuring Mohanlal in a lead role directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. One Bengaluru college decided to mark the excitement for the March 27, 2025 movie release of the Lucifer sequel by devoting an academic holiday. Good Shepherd College in Rajarajeshwari Nagar has provided its students with a film holiday on March 27 while offering free First Day First Show (FDFS) screenings to create increased excitement about Empuraan throughout South India.

A 7 a.m. premiere at Movietime Cinemas inside YGR Mall through two screened theaters was reserved by college administrators following the recommendation of their chairman, who is deeply devoted to Mohanlal. The management arranged two showtimes at Movietime Cinemas in YGR Mall to enable students to witness the premiere without any delay. The institution announced its decision through an entertaining statement that read, "Lights, Camera, Holiday!" Students and cinephiles have expressed their widespread approval for this announcement. This initiative demonstrates the chairman's admiration toward Mohanlal as well as the expanding reach of Malayalam cinema outside Kerala state's boundaries.

Before its release, Empuraan had already created a box office rampage as global pre-sales surpassed Rs 60 crores. The film trailer received praise from Rajinikanth and SS Rajamouli as it presents an epic action story featuring Mohanlal returning as Stephen Nedumpally. Starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Manju Warrier along with Tovino Thomas in its cast, the upcoming film intends to deliver a cinematic masterpiece through an immersive IMAX experience using anamorphic format.

Fans on social media platforms celebrate the college's ruling through popular comments such as “Great inspiration for students!” and “Mohanlal’s magic knows no bounds!” The cultural impact of Empuraan will reach new heights as Good Shepherd College extends support, thereby connecting students and fans through a communal love for cinema. People are observing this as a cultural phenomenon that exceeds its classification as a movie release.
