Bengaluru Civic Government Closes Eight Gaming Zones in a Citywide Crackdown
After a tragic fire event in Rajkot, the BBMP shuttered eight gaming centers in Bengaluru due to regulatory infractions, raising worries about safety.
The Deccan Herald reported that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the civic administrative body of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, has closed eight gaming venues after conducting a thorough inspection. The closures were made in response to various safety and regulatory violations.
Among the main excuses given for the closures were the lack of appropriate police clearances, fire safety permits, and trade licenses.
Following a horrific fire event at a gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat on May 25, which resulted in the deaths of 27 people, including children, the civic body's inspection grew more intense, according to the report.
Hex Entertainment in Koramangala, Kempfort Mall's gaming area on HAL Road, and Vaishnavi Mall on Yeshwantpur Main Road are among the shuttered establishments. The article also mentioned the closure of four more Yelahanka-based shopping centers: RMX Galleria, Fun City Mall of Asia, Fun Unlimited in Elements Mall, Fun City in Bhartiya City Mall, and Amoeba in Bhartiya City Mall.
The BBMP examined 29 gaming areas in all, most of which were found inside sizable retail centers. Remarkably, there were no recorded closures in Bengaluru city's West Zone, Bommanahalli, or Mahadevapura.
