Apple is introducing the features powered by Apple Intelligence for its music streaming services, Apple Music.Announced at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024, Apple Intelligence (AI) is organizing  to come up with additional AI functionalities to IOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. Previously, with iOS 17.1, Apple had launched a library of artwork that allowed users to customize their Apple Music playlists.

As per a report by 9To5Mac, the latest iOS 18 developer beta 4 includes new code that will allow Apple Music users to generate AI-generated artwork for their playlists.

The update introduces a “create image” button on the playlist editing page in the Apple Music app. This button is expected to Activate the new Image Playground feature, which Apple revealed at its annual developer conference along with the launch of iOS 18.

The new Image Playground app will authorize iPhone users to generate images by issuing commands through AI. These AI-generated images can feature various styles, including animation, sketches, illustrations, and more. It’s expected that Apple’s music streaming service will first look at users' choice for playlist artwork and then generate several options for them to choose from.

Apple Intelligence introduces system-wide AI functionalities such as image generation, writing assistance, summarization, and many more. It’s important to note that these features are still in development and beta users won’t get it. However, Apple is expected to begin testing these new features in future iOS 18 beta updates.

This summer, Apple mentioned some of the new features on Apple Intelligence will be out, the media outlet report says, also these references have since been removed from the company’s website.

In the meantime, Apple is expected to preview some of these features with the opening public release of iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and iPadOS 18, scheduled for around September.

In related news, iOS 18 developer beta 4 introduces several new developments and changes. Available for certain iPhone models, this update includes a new “Controls Menu”, in the Settings app. This feature, applicable to the camera, is said to “preserve” previously used camera tools when the controls menu is expanded.

Other major updates feature expanded Rich Communication services (RCS) messaging support in the UK, Spain, and Canada, a new window sizing option for mirroring the iPhone screen on a Mac, and minor system wide redesigns to app icons and the user interface.
