The trailer for Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan’s latest project under Aamir Khan Productions, is out, and it’s already tugging at heartstrings. Directed by R.S. Prasanna, this emotional sports drama is a spiritual sequel to the beloved 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. Fans can mark their calendars for its big-screen release on June 20, 2025, as Khan returns after a three-year break since Laal Singh Chaddha.

The trailer introduces Khan as Gulshan, a rough-around-the-edges basketball coach who lands in hot water after a drunk-driving mishap and a clash with a senior official. As a consequence, a judge assigns him to coach a team of players with intellectual disabilities. At first, Gulshan’s blunt and unfiltered approach creates friction, but the trailer shows his transformation as he connects with his team, blending humor, heart, and a powerful message about acceptance. It’s a story of growth, teamwork, and finding beauty in differences.

The cast includes Genelia Deshmukh as Khan’s love interest, with ten fresh faces—Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar—making their debut. Darsheel Safary, the child star from Taare Zameen Par, also joins in a key role. With music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the film promises a soulful soundtrack that might just echo the magic of its predecessor.

Fans on X are buzzing with excitement. “Aamir Khan never misses when it comes to meaningful cinema,” one user posted, while another called the trailer “a breath of fresh air.” The film, adapted from the 2018 Spanish movie Campeones, also introduces a unique pay-per-view YouTube release after its theater run, which could shake up how Bollywood films reach audiences.

With its tagline “Sabka Apna Apna Normal,” Sitaare Zameen Par aims to celebrate inclusion and empathy, continuing Khan’s knack for stories that inspire.
