Aamir Khan Postpones Sitaare Zameen Par Trailer Amid India-Pakistan Tensions

Aamir Khan has decided to postpone releasing the trailer for his upcoming movie Sitaare Zameen Par as conflict flares between India and Pakistan. The trailer, which was supposed to come out on May 8, was postponed because the country is facing increased border conflicts and a nationwide state of alert.

A source close to Aamir Khan Productions shared, “Considering the developments at the borders and the nationwide alert, Aamir decided to postpone the release of Sitaare Zameen Par’s trailer. His thoughts are with the Bravehearts of our Armed Forces.” This move shows Aamir’s desire to stand in solidarity with the nation, a sentiment echoed by other filmmakers, like the team behind Bhool Chuk Maaf, who also canceled their movie’s release during this sensitive time.

Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna, is a spiritual follow-up to Aamir’s beloved 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. Set to hit theaters on June 20, it stars Aamir, Genelia Deshmukh, and Darsheel Safary, alongside 10 new actors making their debut. Based on the 2018 Spanish film Campeones, the story follows a cocky basketball coach whose life changes while coaching a team of differently: a mix of humor and heart, focusing on themes of inclusivity and personal growth.

This isn’t the first time the trailer’s launch has been delayed. Last month, Aamir pushed it back after a tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which took 26 lives, out of respect for the victims. These delays reflect Aamir’s deep respect for the nation’s mood during tough times.
