"It was a hard hit": Trump calls the shooting in the Musk interview "surreal"
Former US President Donald Trump talked about his experience of the recent shooting event at a campaign rally in a live chat on X with billionaire CEO Elon Musk. He called it a "hard hit" and "surreal." A technical issue and a hack caused the talk, which was scheduled to air on Monday night, to be postponed.
In response to Musk's question on the incident, Trump said it was "not pleasant," describing the instant he felt the bullet strike his ear. It was a forceful blow. Though it wasn't strange, it was quite, I suppose you would say, surreal "said Trump. He went on, "I realized right away that it was a gunshot. 'How many were killed?' was the only thought running through my head when I fell."
Gunshots were heard on July 13 when Trump was speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania, forcing Secret Service personnel to step in. Trump stated that the bullet had entered the top portion of his right ear some hours after the occurrence. The gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, has been identified by the FBI.
Musk's support and the technological challenges Musk disclosed that, partly because of Trump's response at the event, he supported Trump's presidential campaign. "Trump pumping his fists was just incredibly inspiring," Musk stated.
There were a lot of interruptions to the conversation's live feed. The event, which was originally set for 8 p.m. ET, was postponed until 8:42 p.m. ET because X's servers were overloaded by a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) assault. According to Musk, the assault "saturated hundreds of gigabits of data," rendering the platform almost completely unusable for consumers.
There were technical problems that prevented people on X from accessing the webcast. As users encountered error warnings and screen outages, popular hashtags like "crashed" and "#TwitterBlackout" expressed a general sense of dissatisfaction.
The interview, in spite of the interruptions, offered a sobering analysis of the shooting's effects and the continuous difficulties with digital security in public broadcasts.
