Chelsea Crowned as 2025 UEFA Conference League Champions
On May 28, 2025, Chelsea Football Club won the UEFA Conference League, securing their place in football’s history by beating Real Betis 4-1 in the final held at Stadion Wrocław in Poland. By securing their Conference League title, Chelsea became the only club to win every major UEFA men’s club trophy, especially the Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup, Cup Winners’ Cup, and now the Conference League.
A Hard-Fought Battle
Chelsea started the game on the wrong foot as Abde Ezzalzouli gave Real Betis an early goal with help from Isco. In the opening half, Betis were in charge, thanks to Isco, while Chelsea did not seem to play well together. Still, during the second half, the team changed things mainly because of Cole Palmer’s exceptional play. The exciting moment came in the second half, as the young Englishman passed for Enzo Fernández’s goal equalizer and later set up Nicolas Jackson for the winner. In the last ten minutes, Jadon Sancho and Moisés Caicedo scored, making the final score 4-1.
Thanks to manager Enzo Maresca, Chelsea made their way to the final with big wins, such as crushing Noah 8-0 and beating Djurgården 5-1 in the aggregate. Against Betis, the squad’s deep bench and toughness were on show, managing to field the same combination we saw in the last day of the Premier League season. Palmer’s outstanding game confirmed his importance, and Maresca’s strategy change at half-time made a key difference too.
With the victory, Chelsea became a European superpower after a life-changing season. After winning all of UEFA’s main trophies, Chelsea head to the FIFA Club World Cup and look forward to success in next year’s Champions League season.
