X faces a short outage, leaving users unable to load new posts
Social media platform X accomplished interruption late Tuesday, according to outage tracking site Downdetector.com. Downdetector, which observes interruption by gathering the status reports from various sources including users, recorded over 36,500 reports in the US at the height of the disruption.
Downdetector also reports over 3,300 outage incidents in Canada and 1,600 in the UK. The cause of the outage remains unclear.
In India, many users experienced difficulties loading new posts or refreshing their feeds, with most issues appearing to originate from the app.
This outage follows a disruption during a Spaces conversation between X owner Elon Musk and former US President Donald Trump, which Musk described as a “massive” cyber-attack.
Since Elon Musk acquired Twitter in a $44 billion deal, an acquisition he initially sought to cancel. X has frequently experienced tech outages and glitches. Musk has previously criticized Twitter’s code as “brittle.”
The recent outage was relatively brief, lasting less than an hour in total.
