WPL 2025 Scheduled from February 7 to March 2: BCCI
Women's premier league held between 7th February and 2nd March announced by Rajeev Shukla, vice president of the BCCI.
WPL 2025 will be hosted in four venues one in Lucknow and the others in Baroda, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, as announced by Shukla. The exact number of games at each venue is yet to be determined, as the WPL schedule for the season has not been released.
This leads to the fact that the majority of WPL teams can play four games on their grounds when compared to Delhi Capitals, who have reached the final twice and managed to schedule all their matches away from home. The venue lineup is not yet fixed, though.
In March 2023, five franchises participated in the first edition and the games took place in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The second season was held from February 23 to March 17 in 2024 in Bengaluru and Delhi.
In January 2023, Viacom18 acquired the media rights for broadcasting the tournament on TV and digital platforms through a five-year agreement worth Rs 951 crore. With 22 matches scheduled per season in the first three years, the per-match value stands at Rs 7.09 crore. There is a possibility of an increase to 34 matches starting in 2026, should the BCCI decide to introduce a sixth franchise, depending on the performance of the women's IPL.
