Wedding Bells for PV Sindhu, Set to be Married in December

The new chapter in her life will unfold soon for India's badminton star PV Sindhu, double Olympic medallist. The 29-year-old is marrying Venkata Datta Sai, Executive Director, Posidex Technologies, Hyderabad. The wedding is scheduled for December 22 in Udaipur, with grand yet elegant celebrations starting from December 20 for pre-wedding events.

Sindhu's family has confirmed that the reception will take place in Hyderabad on December 24. The wedding has been planned thoughtfully to allow Sindhu to return to the international badminton circuit in January, as the upcoming season is expected to be pivotal.

Sindhu's father, PV Ramana said, "The two families knew each other but it was only a month ago that everything was finalised. This was the only possible window as her schedule will be hectic from January.”

Further, he added, “So that is the reason the two families decided to have the marriage ceremony on December 22. The reception will be held in Hyderabad on December 24. She will start her training soon after, as the next season is going to be important."

PV Sindhu's decorated career

Sindhu, one of India's most accomplished athletes, has an illustrious career. She has got five World Championship medals, including a historic gold in 2019. Her Olympic achievements include a silver medal at Rio 2016 and a bronze at Tokyo 2020. In 2017, she achieved her career-highest world ranking of No. 2, securing her spot among badminton's elite.

Recently, Sindhu ended a title drought by clinching the Syed Modi International in Lucknow, demonstrating that she is back in top form and ready to compete at the highest level once again.
