Fifteen-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scripted history by becoming the youngest male cricketer to represent India after making his international debut in the second T20I against England at Old Trafford. At 15 years and 99 days, the Rajasthan Royals opener surpassed the long-standing record held by Sachin Tendulkar, who made his international debut at the age of 16 in 1989.

Widely regarded as one of Indian cricket's brightest young prospects, Sooryavanshi has enjoyed a remarkable rise over the past two years. He first grabbed national attention by making his Indian Premier League debut for the Rajasthan Royals in 2025 at just 14 years of age.

He followed that breakthrough with an exceptional 2026 IPL campaign, finishing as Rajasthan Royals' highest run-scorer with 776 runs in 16 matches while also setting a new record for the most sixes in a single IPL season, surpassing Chris Gayle.

The teenager announced himself fearlessly on the international stage, smashing two towering sixes during a brisk 14-run knock off just 10 balls before being stumped. Although India eventually suffered a four-wicket defeat to England, Sooryavanshi's confident stroke play and composure under pressure earned widespread praise from cricket experts and fans alike.

With an explosive batting style and an already impressive domestic and IPL record, Sooryavanshi is widely viewed as one of the leading faces of India's next generation of international cricketers
