Trivandrum Launches ACT to Foster Collaboration Among Media Professionals
The advertising industry in Kerala's capital has inaugurated Advertising Club Trivandrum, a platform for collaboration among advertising and media professionals. The club, which is made up of professionals from both advertising and media, aims to create an atmosphere of knowledge sharing and networking which will help to develop talent in Trivandrum.
The first general meeting of the Club was convened on December 2, 2024, with an attendance of around 100 professionals from the many media and advertising fraternity in Trivandrum. The elected club office bearers were elected during this meeting. Laj Salam, CEO of PlainSpeak was elected as president and Vishnu Vijay of Mathrubhumi was chosen as the secretary of the Club. Among other office bearers are Manikandan R. K. of Mangalam Daily as treasurer, B. Sunil of Kairali TV as vice president, and Thomas George Stark Communications as joint secretary.
Speaking to the media, the club president Laj Salam, expressed, "The formation of Ad Club Trivandrum is a dream realised for many of us in the industry. Our mission is to create a platform where creativity meets collaboration, enabling professionals to connect, learn, and grow together. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey.”
In addition, secretary Vishnu Vijay stated, "This Club is a collective effort by passionate individuals from the industry who believe in the power of collaboration. We’re committed to organising events, workshops, and forums that will benefit the industry and its professionals.”
The managing committee includes Krishnanunni from The Hindu, Krishnakumar from Malayala Manorama, Santosh Kumar from Mathrubhumi TV, Pradeep Prabhakar from News Malayalam, Geetha G. Nair from Hues Advertising, Thanseer from Adworld, and Pratheesh from Club FM. An advisory board was also established, comprising senior advertising and media professionals, Koshy Abraham from Malayala Manorama, K.K. Joshy from The Hindu, R. Raghunath from Mediamate, Roy Mathew from Stark Communications, and Deepu S. from Asianet.
