Topley, an English pacer, is Set to Bowling Duties
Reece Topley, an England bowler, thinks that batsmen have the ability to change the tide in the Super 8. Conversely, bowlers need to be ready to take their "medication."There were just three times in the group stage where a team was able to score 200 runs or more. Although there has been a recent shift in trends, Topley stated that the surfaces have been kind to bowlers and that he is now prepared to bowl.
After missing the first two T20 World Cup group matches, Reece Topley returned to the England team and took up new ball responsibilities. However, the left-arm seamer believes he can also be a potent death-bowling option for the reigning champions.
It's good that there are clearly new circumstances to try to adjust to. However, I believe that it will make for a reasonably decent cricket pitch since, thus far, the wickets have been nice to bowlers. In the pre-match news conference, Topley stated, "So, it might be time to take a little medicine, it might be in the business of problem-solving now, and things are a bit more complicated for us as bowlers, but the mission statement is pretty much the same."
"I'm not sure about that, but maybe after two solid games, everyone will be grinning and strolling about on Saturday morning. Thus, it's possible that the batsmen are licking their lips. I hope they provide the goods," he continued.
Topley believes they will be better aware of what to expect from the game if they are familiar with the surroundings.
Yes, I believe that our recent experience of many tours here may be a benefit. Therefore, it is not new to us. Everyone is aware of what to anticipate after we leave the house and how to focus and stay energized for the games. I predict that tomorrow will be a very long day.It goes without saying that it was the late game we've not had yet. We'll have to draw on some of that expertise, I believe. However, Topley noted that playing for England in a World Cup—wherever it is—is undoubtedly the high point of any player's career.
In the Super 8 on Wednesday, England will play the West Indies at Beausejour Stadium in Saint Lucia.
