Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has got a strong response in India, reaffirming Tom Cruise’s star power. The film, which is reportedly the final installment of the franchise, has collected an estimated Rs 16.5 crore net on its opening weekend. With urban multiplexes reporting high occupancy and positive word of mouth, it has registered good momentum from Day 1.

The experts consider this to be evidence clear and decisive of Cruise's continued popularity and the fanbase for the franchise.

Prior to its India release, the movie premiered red-carpeted at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, with Cruise and other actors appearing in person.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the film with very little visual cuts but muted a few English expletives to render it more acceptable to a wider Indian audience.
