This Apple Podcasts Feature is Coming to Spotify
Podcast episode comments are a new feature that Spotify is introducing. On their favorite broadcasts, listeners may now post comments.
According to Spotify, this new tool intends to improve the connection between podcast authors and listeners. Which comments appear on individual episode pages is up to the creators. It is possible to enable or disable comments for a certain episode or the entire program.
Maya Prohovnik, Spotify's lead for podcast features, says the company is taking cautions with this new tool. They want to guarantee that everyone has fun and is safe.
Listeners may already engage with podcasts through other features on Spotify, such as polls and Q&As. According to the firm, users with these features return more frequently and listen to more podcasts.
Not every user will immediately view the comments. Over the course of the following month, Spotify will gradually implement the functionality. Only a select few podcasts will initially have comments enabled.
With this approach, Spotify will compete with YouTube, where content creators frequently engage with viewers through comment areas. It's a part of Spotify's larger strategy to improve the interactivity of podcasts.
Right now, Spotify won't get any money from the comment function. However, it could encourage listeners to use the app more frequently. According to Prohovnik, Spotify may eventually include options for superfans to purchase exclusive features or badges in the comments. Spotify is already keeping an eye on how fans and producers are utilizing the new comment option.
