Swiggy Launches '99 Store' Offering Affordable Meals with Free Delivery
Swiggy, the largest on-demand food delivery platform in India, has launched a new in-app section called the 99 Store, which will deliver single-serve meals in a fixed flat price of 99 rupees (free delivery). The 99 store is perfectly incorporated with the Swiggy application and the structure of it is dish-first, which makes navigation even easier. The dishes offered by the place include a variety of cuisines; biryani, rolls, noodles, North and South Indian cuisines, burgers and pizzas, besides cakes. This pre-selected offer is affordable, but will not fall short of variety or taste, thus creating affordable daily meals accessible to students and young professionals.
The free delivery option in Swiggy is driven by the environment-friendly delivery option, i.e., Eco Saver, which bundles several orders together to save money and emissions through the reduced overall delivery cost to ensure the level of service is not compromised. In the past, Swiggy One members could only benefit from free delivery if the order was 199 or more, but the 99 store reduces this amount to get an aim at very high-frequency, low-order.
“At ₹99, this isn’t just a price point—it’s a promise,” said Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s Food Marketplace. “We’ve worked closely with restaurant partners and delivery teams to make everyday meals affordable without cutting corners. This is a big step in making Swiggy a true everyday choice for millions.”
It has launched at a time of heightening competition, with Swiggy-backed Rapido to test-launch its food delivery app 'Ownly' in Bengaluru, promising commissions to restaurants that are lower. Experts in the industry consider the establishing of the 99 store as an initiative aimed at meeting the desired orders as well as intensifying their penetration to the market of price sensitive users.

The store is currently open and live on the Swiggy app named as the '99 Store'. While some may require them to update the app to get access to this store. This is a disruptive attempt that makes Swiggy more affordable and convenient in food delivery, where many more restrictive food businesses are promising in India.
