Sony Bravia 8 Series TV: Details
Alongside the prevailing Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode and Sony Pictures Core Calibrated Mode, the Bravia 8 series introduces a new Prime Video Calibrated Mode. Sony expressed that this mode not only reproduces the image quality as deliberated by film creators on Amazon Prime but also automatically adjusts picture quality for live sports broadcasts.
Driven by the AI Processor XR, which Sony claims processes data in a way similar to the human brain, the Bravia 8 series OLED TVs come with several advanced features. This include XR 4K Upscaling technology, which improves 2K resolution content to near true 4K quality, XR Contrast Booster for precise light control resulting in deeper blacks and brighter whites, XR OLED Motion for smooth handling of fast-moving scenes, and XR Clear Image, which minimizes noise and blur through dynamic frame analysis.
In terms of audio, the Bravia 8 series TVs are equipped with Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology, which uses buttons behind the screen to vibrate and transform it into a speaker, enhancing the immersive experience. Additionally, built-in tweeters make every part of the screen a speaker, making sure sound emerges from the precise location of the on-screen action.
Sony also spotlighted that the Bravia 8 series has been optimized for gaming. The TVs feature Auto HDR Tone Mapping, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), which improves the gaming experience on thePlayStation 5 console.
