Ryan Coogler’s Sinners has completed a two-week run in theaters. What has surprised the movie buffs is the box office collection of the movie, which has preceded the regular collection of films. The film has earned a collection of USD 45 million in ticket sales from theaters in the U.S. and Canada. Worldwide Sinners has made USD 161.6 million.

Sinners is a 1930s vampire thriller, starring Michael B. Jordan as twins. This supernatural horror film has the cast of Hailee Steinfeld, Delroy Lindo, Li Jun Li, and Wunmi Mosaku. The story is set to happen in Mississippi. This film has the perfect rating of 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Sinners saw a drop of 6 percent from its Easter holiday launch. This is the smallest drop any genre has seen from the release of Avatar in 2009.  While last weekend saw an audience booking of 56 percent, this weekend has seen a narrowed divide of 50/50 in gender. The film booking in IMAX has seen an increase of 9 percent compared to the previous weekend. This can be considered a huge win for the film, due to the IMAX premium large format showing with 70mm screens. The IMAX booking worldwide has seen a 21% booking.

Sinners have broken the odds of lessening booking in the second week of film release. Through the booking and box office collection, it is safe to say that, Sinners is being loved by not only horror fans but also mainstream media audiences.
