Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat Renovation Faces Legal Roadblock

Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai residence Mannat functions as a famous symbol of Bollywood wealth while construction work on its summer modifications faces delays. A complaint filed by environmental activist Santosh Daundkar at the National Green Tribunal stopped the six-storey heritage structure expansion plan of the superstar in Bandra. The activist presented evidence showing that the renovation violates CRZ rules which led the tribunal to investigate with demands for supporting documentation.

A complaint filed with Bar & Bench reveals that Shah Rukh Khan together with MCZMA allegedly broke coastal zone rules when getting CRZ clearance for his project. Any changes to Mannat need to follow precise guidelines because it belongs to Grade III of the heritage classification system. The advocate claims Shah Rukh Khan executed a fraudulent act by combining twelve one-bedroom flats which were meant for mass housing into one palatial home for his family unit. The reported renovation plan presents two new levels on top of the large bungalow which creates objections regarding environmental and regulatory standards.

The Nationwide Green Tribunal ordered Daundkar to submit actual documentation for his claims of violations before the hearing deadline of four weeks. The Judicial Member Dinesh Kumar Singh along with Expert Member Vijay Kulkarni warned that not providing evidence would lead to dismissal of the appeal. The judiciary will hold its next session on April 23 while Mannat’s renovation project remains uncertain regarding its future.
