Sanjay Dwivedi Named as the Group CEO of Balaji Telefilms

Balaji Telefilms has appointed Sanjay Dwivedi as Group Chief Executive Officer (Group CEO), while retaining his current position as Group Chief Financial Officer (Group CFO). The board of directors endorsed this decision during its meeting on November 14.

Dwivedi is a seasoned executive with approximately 30 years of experience in the Media & Entertainment and FMCG industries. He has worked with Balaji Telefilms since January 2013. As a member of the core management team, he has had a significant impact on the company's financial and operational orientation, working closely with senior leadership and the board.

During his tenure, Dwivedi has overseen a number of crucial efforts, including fundraising, strategic financial management, tax optimization, and treasury control. He has also been instrumental in establishing collaborations and obtaining permission for new business initiatives, demonstrating his extensive knowledge and strategic aptitude.

Prior to joining Balaji Telefilms, Dwivedi held senior positions at Nimbus Communications Ltd., Entertainment Network India Ltd. (Radio Mirchi), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, and Tata Steel, giving him extensive expertise.

In a related event, the business announced the hiring of Vimal Doshi as Balaji Motion Pictures' Chief Operating Officer (COO), demonstrating its commitment to improving leadership across its many verticals.

Vimal has nearly 26 years of film industry experience and has worked for the Balaji Group for more than a decade. He joined Balaji in 2007 as Assistant Manager of Theatrical Distribution and has since distributed multiple films for the firm. He currently leads the theatrical distribution team.

In addition, since 2015, Vimal has been in charge of all film sales. He has negotiated slate deals with key OTT platforms, music labels, and satellite players such as Netflix, Tips, and SaReGaMa, as well as strategic collaborations with media conglomerate Zee Entertainment. Vimal has also overseen a number of co-productions over the last three years, building ties with co-producers and talent alike.
