Samsung to Unveil Next-Gen Foldable Smartphones at July 9 Event

The launch of the Samsung Electronics newest foldable smartphones is scheduled at the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, 2025, at 10am Brooklyn, New York time (7:30 pm IST). The livestream will take place on Samsung.com as well as Samsung Newsroom and the Samsung YouTube channel and, as Samsung claimed, would showcase the next evolution of the Galaxy devices. The devices are meant to reinforce Samsung dominance in the foldable phone market where it has reigned since launching its first foldable in 2019.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will also have a larger outer screen, making it easier to use when folded like Motorola Razr Ultra. Compared to the rivals, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, unfolded like a tablet, will most likely have a tthinner design, narrower bevels, and be slightly enlarged by an 8.2- inch display. Both of these models are expected to have better screens, better camera, and a longer battery life. Fold 7 would involve the Snapdragon Elite processor, and the Flip 7 would have Samsung Exynos 2500, ensuring better performance.

Samsung is also focusing on its Galaxy AI pack, by ensuring they incorporate powerful AI-based tools on photo editing, real-time translation and improved productivity. It has been reported that it may partner up with Perplexity AI to preload its assistant in these devices to redefine how people interact with technology by turning smartphones into smart companion that predicts the needs of the user.

In addition to smartphones, the event will possibly feature Project Moohan, the mixed-reality headset made by Samsung in liaison with Google, back on the Android operating system XR and rivals Apple Vision Pro. Rumours also indicate the launch of a new wearable, who is likely to be the Galaxy Watch 8 or Galaxy Watch Ultra, and Galaxy Buds.
