Ritesh Khosla of Sony Pictures Networks India is raised to General Counsel
With effect from September 1, Ritesh Khosla has been promoted to General Counsel of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI). Ashok Nambissan, who is retiring on August 31, is succeeded by him.
He held the positions of EVP, Deputy General Counsel, and Head, Standards & Practices before being promoted. Before joining SPNI, Ritesh started out as a practicing attorney in a legal company. He rose through the ranks there, most recently taking on the role of Deputy General Counsel.
His career spans more than 20 years, and his areas of competence include corporate governance, joint ventures, regulatory frameworks, intellectual property rights (IPR) protection and enforcement, corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and complex litigation.
Ritesh will be in charge of SPNI's business relations, legal and regulatory affairs, secretarial, and standards and practices departments in his new position. He will oversee the company's legal risks, offer risk and legal advice, and act as the ombudsperson. He will answer directly to Sony Pictures Networks India's Managing Director and CEO.
Apart from his primary responsibilities, Ritesh will spearhead efforts to improve SPNI's framework for compliance, particularly with regard to digital and intellectual property rights. Along with overseeing SPNI's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs and bringing them into compliance with ethical and legal norms, he will help fortify the company's legal infrastructure in foreign markets.
Ritesh Khosla commented, "I am truly honored to become General Counsel at SPNI," in response to his appointment. It has been an immensely fulfilling experience for me to come here, and I can't wait to keep working with our amazing team. This position presents a special chance to strengthen the solid legal foundation laid by Ashok Nambissan's direction. My commitment lies in maintaining the utmost levels of legal and ethical behavior while furthering SPNI's objective of providing our viewers with outstanding content and experiences."
