Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda Address Betting App Allegations

The ongoing investigation into unregulated betting applications has reached a new stage with Telugu movie stars Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj and Vijay Devarakonda facing interrogations from officials. The scandal created a massive industry-wide impact as established face questioning at the hands of authorities regarding their suspected involvement with unlawful betting software.

Multiple investigative agencies including ED are examining the financial activities of actors who work with betting applications while investigating their network ties to these apps. Various celebrities used their media platforms to endorse these platforms leading users to engage in activities which law enforcement deems unlawful. Users lost significant amounts of money according to the allegations against the targeted applications.

Through his PR team Rana Daggubati declared his endorsement of a skill-based gaming platform in 2017 which followed legal specifications. His support extends only to jurisdictions where these games are lawful according to local regulations. The Supreme Court made clear distinctions between skill-based games and gambling thus making them lawful according to Daggubati.

Vijay Devarakonda made it clear that he endorsed licensed skill-based gaming entities with particular focus on A23 which maintains proper certification. A23 stopped operating under him during the previous year and his professional connection to the company ended. Through his statement Devarakonda confirmed that rummy games fall under skill-based activities which are approved by the Supreme Court.

Prakash Raj used a video recording to tell young people that they should not participate in unlawful betting applications. He disclosed he worked for a gaming company in 2016 until he discovered their hidden objectives so he left. The firm tried to reuse his commercial in 2021 but he used legal notices to protect his intellectual property. Prakash Raj stated he was ready to work with investigators who were conducting their current study.

According to the FIR these apps exploited needy people by pushing them to invest for immediate wealth through false promises despite their financial destruction. Under the Telangana Gaming Act 2017 the police declared that online betting remains prohibited. DCP G Vineeth declared the investigation will focus on understanding how the unlawful activities of these apps affect users as well as their illegal operation methods.
