There were rumors circulating since last week with respect to a potential delay for Sukumar’s highly anticipated action thriller, Pushpa: The Rule as it was originally slated for an August 15 release. Today, lead actor Allu Arjun has confirmed the same and said that the sequel has indeed been postponed, and a new release date has been set.

Pushpa 2 Release Date Confirmed

On Monday evening, Allu Arjun had shared a brand new poster of Pushpa 2: The Rule on his X handle, wherein, the image featured him as Pushpa Raj, donning a grey t-shirt which was layered with a brown shirt, and complemented by a matching bandana.

Furthermore, he held a sword menacingly on his shoulder, while staring into the camera with a fierce expression. The caption read: “#Pushpa2TheRule in cinemas from December 6th, 2024.”

Since new films began staking claims on the August 15 release date, fans have been curious about the status of Pushpa 2. Initially, Pushpa 2 was set to compete with Rohit Shetty’s Bollywood cop drama Singham Again and Nikkhil Advani’s action thriller Vedaa.

However, the lineup expanded to include Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and Puri Jagannadh’s sci-fi action film Double iSmart last week. In addition, Jio Studios announced a change by moving Singham Again to a Diwali release while slotting its horror comedy Stree 2 for the August 15 date.

About Pushpa 2

Pushpa 2: The Rule is the follow-up to Sukumar’s 2021 Telugu hit, Pushpa: The Rise. The first film starred Allu Arjun as the anti-hero Pushpa Raj and Rashmika Mandanna as his love interest, Srivalli.

Suggesting a larger role in the sequel, Fahadh Faasil made an appearance at the end of the first sequel. Furthermore, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was also featured in the popular dance number “Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava.”
