Prasar Bharati Partners with Adhikari Brothers for OTT, TV Content

Prasar Bharati, India’s public broadcaster, has formed a deliberate collaboration with Sri Adhikari Brothers Digital Network. Through this partnership, a premium and different range of content from Sri Adhikari Brothers will be available on Prasar Bharati’s OTT platform WAVES and linear TV channels.

This collaboration marks a return to roots for the Adhikari Brothers, who started their media journey with Doordarshan, Prasar Bharati’s predecessor.

As part of the agreement, popular channels like Mastiii, Dabangg, and Maiboli will be featured on Waves, enriching its library with regional hits, family dramas, and youth-focused programming. The partnership also includes plans to co-create innovative shows that cater to current audience preferences while maintaining cultural and social relevance.

Speaking on the association, Markand Adhikari, chairman emeritus of Sri Adhikari Brothers network shared, "Gautam (my brother) and I started our career with Doordarshan, and whatever Adhikari Brothers is today because of the massive reach of Doordarshan. We feel like it’s a homecoming, and I am confident that, once again, we will provide quality entertainment for our audiences. We are proud of our legacy with Doordarshan."

The addition of Sri Adhikari Brothers’ channels to Waves is set to expand the platform’s audience, transforming it into a central hub for a wide range of entertainment options in the country.
