Now, Users of Adobe Acrobat Reader can Create and Modify Images

Adobe wants to increase customers' efficiency and creativity while working with digital documents, so it's bringing some new generative AI features to Acrobat reader. With simply text instructions, users will now be able to generate and change images in PDFs, according to the business.

Adobe claims that Acrobat is the first program to have in-app generative AI capabilities, thanks to Firefly AI. Two new functions have been added to Acrobat: Edit image and Generate image in Acrobat.

Users will have access to tools including generative fill, background removal, erasing, and cropping through the Edit Image function. Users will be able to upload new photos directly from the Acrobat reader app, remove backgrounds from photographs, and remove undesired items from images.

In the meanwhile, customers may utilize the Firefly Image 3 model's capacity to add new pictures to their PDFs by utilizing the Generate Image function. Users will be able to add images to any area of a document and modify the size and appearance of the images with this capability.

"With generative AI we can advance the category again with image creation and insights across a new range of document types, empowering every customer with a deeper understanding and ability to transform information into compelling content - with the ease and speed of a simple prompt," stated Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president of Adobe Document Cloud, in a release discussing the need for the new feature.

Additionally, Adobe is releasing two new features—Enhanced meeting transcripts and insights across documents—along with a significant improvement to the Acrobat AI helper. With the help of the Insights function, users will be able to recognize important themes, patterns, and connections within a collection of PDF, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint documents. In order to make it easier for users to confirm the accuracy of the material, the AI assistant also provides replies while adding citations.

To assist users grasp the major subjects, important points, and action items in the document more quickly, the improved transcripts feature, on the other hand, will enable users to generate generative summaries of a meeting transcript.
