Netflix is teaming up with NASA to bring the wonders of space straight to your screen, with live programming from NASA+ hitting the platform this summer. Announced on June 30, 2025, this exciting partnership marks the first time Netflix will feature another programmer’s live feed in the U.S., giving its 700 million-plus subscribers worldwide a front-row seat to real-time space exploration. Rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, and breathtaking views of Earth from the International Space Station (ISS).

NASA’s free streaming service, NASA+, launched in November 2023 and will still be available at no cost on NASA’s website and app, so everyone can tune in. But partnering with Netflix takes NASA’s mission to share space exploration to a whole new level. “The National Aeronautics and Space Act of 1958 calls on us to share our story with the broadest possible audience,” said Rebecca Sirmons, who runs NASA+.

On Netflix, the NASA+ channel will showcase live mission coverage, behind-the-scenes moments, and chats with space experts. While NASA’s documentaries will stay exclusive to its own platforms, Netflix viewers will get plenty of thrilling live content. This move comes as Netflix dives deeper into live programming, from sports to now the cosmos, following a recent deal with France’s TF1 network and NASA’s own live channel on Amazon Prime Video.
