Disney+ Hotstar will broadcast Banijay Asia's adaptation of NBCUniversal's Monk for Indian viewers. Adrian Monk, a detective with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) who works with the San Francisco Police Department to solve unusual cases while dealing with his wife's unsolved murder, is the focus of this adaptation, which is the first Asian version of the renowned detective series that debuted on the USA Network in the United States.

The show explores Monk's personal and professional lives while fusing humor, mystery, and emotional depth.

"We are extremely excited to partner with NBCUniversal Formats to adapt Monk for the Indian audiences," stated Deepak Dhar, Founder & Group CEO, Banijay Asia & Endemol Shine India. We think our adaptation will be as popular as the original series, which has raised the bar for character-driven mysteries. We are certain that we will give the classic characters justice because we have a fantastic cast. The production has been moving along smoothly, and we are excited to present this fascinating project on Disney+ Hotstar. This will advance our long and successful partnership as we continue to provide Indian fans with interesting and high-caliber content."

"We are thrilled to partner with Banijay Asia and NBCUniversal Formats to bring this award-winning series to the Indian audience," said Sumanta Bose, "Business Head HSM and Content Head Disney+ Hotstar (Hindi), expressing his excitement about the partnership. Monk's compelling blend of humor, intrigue, and emotional depth makes it an amazing fit for our platform. For our audiences, including those who may have watched the original, we have tried to make this version seem Indian and rooted, making it distinctively new."

This action comes after Banijay Asia's success with several foreign adaptations, including The Night Manager, The Trial-Pyaar, Kanoon, and Dhokha (the Good Wife adaption).

"It's great to see Monk establishing a following among Indian viewers," continued Ana Langenberg, SVP Format Sales & Production, NBCUniversal Formats. The allure of the show has drawn viewers from all over the world, and with dependable collaborators like Banijay Asia & Disney+ Hotstar, we are confident that our adaptation will embrace a new cultural context while preserving the essence of the original. We can't wait for this cherished series to be produced in India."
