Monster Hunter Wilds Set to Unleash Epic Adventure
Capcom’s highly anticipated game, Monster Hunter Wilds, is gearing up for its global release on February 28, 2025. This is being positioned as the biggest edition yet of the franchise. It's one of the beautiful trailers that have made fans wait in suspense with so many betas until the announcement at The Game Awards in 2023. On PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam, Monster Hunter Wilds will change monster-hunting action using its stunning open world and groundbreaking features.
The release timing of the game may vary slightly from place to place and from platform to platform. Console players outside the U.S. can dive in at midnight local time on February 28, while North American players will see a unified launch at 12 a.m. EST—meaning West Coast hunters can start as early as 9 p.m. PST on February 27. PC players, however, will enjoy a simultaneous global unlock at 9 p.m. PST on February 27 (5 a.m. GMT on February 28). Preloading began on February 25 at 9 p.m. PST for Xbox and Steam, with PS5 getting its preload 48 hours prior to the launch, so players can go right to the hunt.
Monster Hunter Wilds opens up to a world without seams for the first time for the series. It has dynamic and new mounts, as well as new and returning monsters such as Rathalos and Gore Magala, waiting to be challenged. The betas have shown improved combat, a voiced protagonist, and crossplay possibilities that hint at a fuller experience of narrative and multiplayer. An enormous day-one patch (18 GB on PS5) promises performance improvements, addressing beta comments about the visuals and frame rates, with PS5 Pro optimizations included.
It promises to be a mixture of everything traditional and new, making it appeal to both veterans and rookies. Critics' reviews have been full of praise, describing Monster Hunter Wilds as "the new peak of the series" and possibly a potential contender for game of the year at a whopping Metacritic score of 90. Buyers of the physical copy should take note of a mandatory update of 15GB, making pre-downloading digitally probably the easiest way to get into the Forbidden Lands.
