Tom Cruise’s latest action-packed film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, is creating a buzz in India ahead of its May 17 release. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the movie has fans rushing to book tickets, with over 12,000 already sold for the opening weekend at major theaters like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis. It’s shaping up to be a massive hit.

Ethan Hunt’s Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning is a continuation of the story with high-danger stakes. The eighth of the Mission: Impossible series involves Cruise’s Ethan Hunt who sets off on his most dangerous mission yet, as he defies a deadly AI, called “The Entity”. Following Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One; which raked in Rs 105 crore once in India in 2023, the sequel has created a record anticipation. The new Mission: Impossible hitting the screen is in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, 4DX and IMAX options, with stunning mind-blowing action sequences, such as a massive underwater fight.

Ticket sales kicked off recently, and fans are snapping them up fast, with even 6 AM showtimes selling out on apps like BookMyShow. Industry experts believe The Final Reckoning could outdo its predecessor, possibly hitting Rs 150 crore in total earnings, making it Cruise’s biggest film in India.

The excitement is boosted by the movie’s early release in India, a full six days before its global debut on May 23. Paramount Pictures moved up the date due to “huge demand and fan enthusiasm.” The film also stars familiar faces like Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg, alongside new additions like Hayley Atwell and Hannah Waddingham, adding to its appeal.

With Cruise’s trademark death-defying stunts and a thrilling storyline, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is set to rule the Indian box office. If word-of-mouth is as strong as expected, it could outperform other releases like Raid 2 and become one of Hollywood’s biggest successes in India this year.
