The club, originally called Deportivo LS when Suárez founded it in 2018 in Ciudad de la Costa, focused on helping young players and building community ties. Deportivo LSM is all about giving back to Uruguayan soccer by nurturing local talent. Suárez, Uruguay’s record goal scorer, shared his passion for the project: “This is a family dream that began in 2018. I want to give Uruguayan football, where I grew up, the tools for kids and teens to grow”. The club’s top-notch facility, the Luis Suárez Sports City, includes synthetic and natural turf fields and can host 2,000 fans, with over 3,000 members already involved.
