Kansas City Chiefs Launch Their Own Production Studio

The Kansas City Chiefs are expanding into entertainment with the launch of a production company ahead of Super Bowl LIX.

The new venture, Foolish Club Studios, will create both scripted and unscripted content for shortform and longform platforms. The Chiefs have already dipped their toes into entertainment, including last year's Hallmark Channel film Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story and the online claymation short A Kingdom Christmas Story: Hail Merry.

Foolish Club aims to further expand the Chiefs' brand by developing new entertainment ventures. While the team already has an in-house production team, 65 Toss Power Trap, dedicated to football content, Foolish Club will focus on creating entertainment projects that push beyond the team's current scope. The name Foolish Club honors team and American Football League founder Lamar Hunt, reflecting the original owners' bold "foolish" ambition to challenge the National Football League.

"Foolish Club Studios is a tribute to my father in so many ways," said Clark Hunt, chairman and CEO of the Kansas City Chiefs, in a statement. "My father constantly pushed boundaries and inspired innovative thinking, and that is exactly the ethos we expect this new studio to embrace as we expand our ambitions in storytelling and continue to make the game more accessible to our fans."

"Storytelling around sports captivated Lamar, and we believe the studio will capture the heart and soul of his vision and allow us to connect with individuals around the world in new and unique ways, regardless of their fandom."

The NFL is also making strides in the entertainment space, having partnered with David Ellison's Skydance to launch Skydance Sports, a sports-focused entertainment venture.
