JioHotstar Introduces Monthly Plans Across Tiers, Starting at Rs 79
JioHotstar has rolled out monthly subscription plans across its Mobile, Super and Premium tiers, expanding its pricing structure to offer greater flexibility for viewers.
The new plans will be available from January 28, 2026, and will exist alongside the platform’s quarterly and annual subscriptions.
The entry-level Mobile plan priced at ₹79 per month allows streaming on a single mobile device.
This tier is ad-supported and does not include Hollywood content as part of the base offering, though users can opt for a paid add-on to access international titles.
The Mobile plan is positioned for individual users who primarily consume content on smartphones.

The Super tier subscription is aimed at households with multiple screens and enables streaming on two devices simultaneously. It includes access to Hollywood films and series along with regional and Hindi programming. Advertisements continue to be part of the viewing experience on this tier, which is priced higher than the Mobile plan due to its wider content access and device support.
At the top end, the Premium tier allows streaming on four devices at the same time. It offers largely ad-free viewing, except during certain live sports and events where advertisements may still appear. This tier targets families and heavy users who prefer uninterrupted viewing across televisions, mobiles and tablets.
The introduction of monthly plans comes amid rising consumption of OTT content on connected TVs, a trend that is shaping how platforms design pricing and packaging. By offering shorter-duration plans, JioHotstar is addressing users who prefer not to commit to long-term subscriptions.

Existing subscribers will continue on their current plans and prices as long as auto-renewal remains active. The company said the revised structure is designed to align subscriptions with changing viewing habits as competition in India’s streaming market intensifies.
