Jio strengthens its video content security partnership with Verimatrix
Jio, India's largest telecom network with over half a billion consumers, has increased the security of its connected TV (CTV) video platform through a deeper collaboration with Verimatrix.
The agreement has greatly increased Jio's use of the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for DVB, IPTV, OTT, and Multi-DRM. This includes integrating Verimatrix's security and delivery services into all of Jio's premium video entertainment products, including the CTV platform.
Jio, recognized for producing its own content and licensing international sporting events and other premium entertainment, emphasizes the importance of strong video security and dependable delivery.
Jio continues to focus on India's B2C sector, and has chosen Verimatrix VCAS to offer comprehensive security across mobile devices, set-top boxes, and now CTVs. "We are excited to deepen our partnership with Verimatrix as we prioritize data and video security," said Kiran Thomas, Jio Platforms' CEO.
"Given the size of our company and essential projects such as broadcasting worldwide sporting events, we want a reliable partner to enable secure multiscreen access for our customers. Based on previous engagements, we are certain that Verimatrix will provide superior protection."
Asaf Ashkenazi, CEO of Verimatrix, stated, "We're proud that Reliance Jio has chosen to further expand its use of our content protection and anti-piracy technologies. Our cutting-edge security innovations help clients like Jio safeguard revenue streams through both established and new distribution channels, stop piracy, and safeguard premium content."
