Jio Launches 4K JioHotstar & JioFiber Trial Ahead of IPL 2025
Reliance Jio presents cricket fans with an exciting proposition that combines streaming services with upgraded home entertainment just before the 2025 cricket season. On March 16, 2025, Reliance Jio offered 4K JioHotstar access free for 90 days and 50 days of the JioFiber/JioAirFiber trial to customers as part of an exciting announcement before the 2025 cricket season.
The upcoming IPL season can be accessed through the offer that targets new and existing Jio SIM users who select a recharge option priced at Rs 299 or above featuring daily data allocations at 1.5GB minimum. The addition of the Rs 299 recharge between March 17 and March 31, 2025 enables users to access JioHotstar matches at ultra-high definition 4K quality that activates on March 22 during the first IPL season match day. Jio customers who recharged before March 17 can activate the identical benefits through a Rs 100 add-on pack. New customers can access Jio network service through SIM activation with any qualifying plan.
The 50-day JioFiber or JioAirFiber trial provides users with high-speed internet and unlimited WiFi and gives them access to both over 800 TV channels and 11+ OTT apps which creates a connected home entertainment experience. The trial works as an essential addition to cricket streaming that lets fans watch every cricket moment from any location.
Jio executed this strategic move after establishing JioHotstar through the merger of JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar which delivers service to more than 750 million viewers. JioHotstar offers an interactive experience through its AI analytics along with real-time statistics and multi-dimensional viewing options that differentiate it from other Indian streaming services. Industry analysts highlight the need for JioHotstar to expand beyond sports content since the platform now prioritizes different programming due to its post-merger changes.
