India to Engage Global Community Ahead of WAVES 2025 Summit

The Government of India is to engage with the global community in readiness for the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025. The outreach meets, organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will be held today, March 13, at 4:30 PM at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi.

This outreach function hosted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will invite participation in a pivotal Global Media Dialogue by various governments before the inaugural WAVES Declaration at Mumbai on May 2, 2025.

Union Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Railways and MeitY Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting & Parliamentary Affairs L Murugan, with host state Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, to showcase the promise of WAVES as a cohesive global platform for the fast-evolving Media & Entertainment industry.

The event will be witnessed by over 100 ambassadors and high commissioners and will map out possibilities for a synergistic strategy in the M&E space. Global Media Dialogue, to be organized at World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 on May 2, 2025 in Mumbai, seeks to gather global leaders, policymakers, industry players, media practitioners, and artists to participate in a positive and vibrant dialogue with the objective of charting the future of the audio-visual and entertainment industries with emphasis on international cooperation, technological advancement, and ethical conduct.

One of the main aims of the dialogue is to facilitate frank dialogue and partnership among countries towards ensuring equitable and transparent development of the M&E industry. Meetings will concentrate on how to better collaborate across national borders, and to provide a platform for experience-sharing and forming partnerships to facilitate the management of shared challenges and opportunities. The conversation will also highlight the need for free and fair trade practices in the M&E industry, guaranteeing equal access and development for all parties. The main agenda items of the Global Media Dialogue under the umbrella of WAVES include a dialogue about opportunities and issues shared across all countries in the Media and Entertainment industry with an eye towards promoting global harmony.

The WAVES Summit will converge the entire Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry to be held in Mumbai, Maharashtra, between May 1 and May 4, 2025.
