Imperial is poised to transform the Marvel Universe's Cosmic Side
Marvel Comics will debut IMPERIAL, a brand-new comic series that will transform the Marvel Universe's cosmic side, in June. Visionary writer Jonathan Hickman, renowned for his groundbreaking work on Fantastic Four, X-Men, Avengers, and Marvel's new Ultimate line, wrote the four-part event series.
Vicentini and Coello, two of Marvel's top Stormbreaker artists, drew the series. IMPERIAL is the summer's must-read comic book because it sets the stage for a whole new universe of interconnected space-set comic series that will debut later this year!Several notable intergalactic leaders are eliminated at the beginning of IMPERIAL.
A new galactic order emerges as empires fall, rulers are deposed, and power is taken because nature hates a vacuum! Th saga offers revolutionary new developments for a number of Marvel Universe groups, such as the HULKS, BLACK PANTHERS, NOVAS, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and, as was disclosed in X-Manhunt Omega #1 last week, mutants! In the X-Manhunt finale, which marked the latest milestone crossover for the X-Men, Professor X took to the stars to save his daughter, Xandra, who had been deposed as the Majestrix of the Shi'ar Empire. ComicBook.com revealed a preview of IMPERIAL in an exclusive interview with artists Federico Vicentini and Iban Coello.
Two major plot lines are highlighted in the latest IMPERIAL preview below. In the epic "Planet Hulk" storyline, Hulk raged and subdued Sakaar, a barbaric planet that Coello's pages show the Hulk, She-Hulk, and Brawn returning to.
While his father J'Son plans how to profit from the impending chaos, Star-Lord enlists Nova to help protect the galaxy, and Vicentini's pages hint at both corruption and hope.
The amazing new character designs on both sets of pages demonstrate the tremendous creative energy that these celebrated artists are contributing to this brand-new storytelling era!
