How to Watch Kohli's Domestic Return in Ranji Trophy 2025 vs Railways

By Media Infotainment Team | Thursday, 30 January 2025

The sixth round of the Ranji Trophy 2025 has just concluded. Some of India's known cricketers, including Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, and many more, have returned to domestic cricket after a break of some length. However, the most eagerly awaited comeback is that of star batter and former India captain Virat Kohli, who will be seen wearing the Delhi jersey for the first time since 2012 in a Ranji match on Thursday, January 30.

Delhi will look to send off their Ranji Trophy campaign on a positive note with Kohli in the side and even look to entertain the prospects of making it to the quarterfinal's stages.

But with 14 points in six games, they will be requiring a lot of luck and also a bonus point win against Railways to even think about the quarterfinal’s scenario.

Kohli will play at number 4

Delhi captain Ayush Badoni on Wednesday confirmed that Kohli will be batting at his usual Test spot of number four for Delhi in their match against Railways. But Badoni was also very excited to have led a side with Kohli saying, he has played against him in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but playing with him and that too as a captain is like a dream come true moment.

Kohli’s stats in Ranji Trophy

Virat Kohli has played 23 matches in his Ranji Trophy career, scoring 1,574 runs at an average of 50.77, which included five centuries. His early seasons saw steady progress, starting with 257 runs in the 2006-07 season. He improved further in 2007-08, scoring 373 runs with two centuries. A slight dip came in 2008-09, when he could manage only 174 runs in four matches, but he made a great comeback in 2009-10 by scoring 374 runs at an average of 93.5. He carried the same form in the 2010-11 season, where he scored 339 runs with two centuries. Kohli had his last experience with the Ranji Trophy in the season 2012-13 where he featured in just one match and scored 57 runs.
