How to Set Up the Windows 11 2024 Update (version 24H2) on your PC?
The next Windows 11 version, known as the 2024 Update or version 24H2, is now being shipped with new Copilot+ PCs but isn't yet widely accessible for Windows 11 PCs that are already in use. But there's a simple method to get on your computer right now, and we'll walk you through it.
You must temporarily enroll in the Windows Insider Program in order to get the stable build of the upcoming Windows version in order to receive the Windows 11 2024 Update. This is simply accomplished using the Windows Settings program.
How to immediately obtain Windows 11 version 24H2 Press WIN+I to access Windows Settings.
2. Click on "Windows Update."
3. Choose the "Windows Insider Program" option ans Click "Get started."
4: Click "Link an account."
5. After choosing your account, press "continue."
6. To accept joining the Insider Program, click "continue".
7. Choose "Release Preview" and press the next button.
8. Select "continue" to consent to Microsoft collecting telemetry information.
9: Choose "Restart now."
10. Press WIN+I to access Windows Settings after rebooting.
11. Click on Windows Update
12. Choose "Check for updates"
13. Windows 11 version 24H2 should now be available for download as an update.
14. Return to the Windows Insider Program page in Settings after downloading and installing Windows 11 version 24H2.
15. Click "Stop."
15. Choose "Cease receiving preview builds." 16. Turn on the option to "Unenroll this device when the next version of Windows releases."
And that's it! When Windows 11 version 24H2 is formally released later this year, you will now immediately be removed from the Windows Insider Program. Enjoy the new features of Windows 11 version 24H2 in the interim, though!
IMPORTANT: If hardware is not Copilot+ compatible, Windows 11 version 24H2 will not offer any Copilot+ PC functionalities. That covers any Windows 11 computer that is now available for purchase that isn't equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X CPU. You can download 24H2, but you won't receive Windows Recall or other AI capabilities if your computer is an AMD or Intel platform.
