How Indian women shined at Cannes 2024

Anasuya Sengupta made history on Friday, winning the prestigious Best Actress prize at the Cannes Film Festival. She received the award for her outstanding performance in 'The Shameless,' which competed in the Un Certain Regard section of the 77th festival. The festival saw numerous Indian women shine, highlighting India's expanding importance on global cinema. Indian women shine at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, including Anasuya Sengupta's strong message.

Anasuya Sengupta's stunning performance in 'The Shameless' garnered her the top acting award, which she dedicated to the gay community. Anasuya Sengupta expressed her desire for more female gaze in a strong statement following her receipt of the prestigious prize.

"This is for the queer community everywhere, and all other marginalized communities all over the world, for bravely fighting a fight they shouldn't have to fight," Anasuya said passionately as she accepted her prize.

"More female gaze is the way forward, and the browner, the better," she said.

Anasuya Sengupta, a Kolkata native, delivered an outstanding performance as Renuka in the film "The Shameless," directed by Bulgarian Konstantin Bojanov. Renuka's horrific yet inspiring escape from a Delhi brothel, in which she kills a police officer to achieve her freedom, is the subject of the film. The tale revolves around her complicated and turbulent relationship with her love interest, performed by Omara Shetty.

Watermelon has recently been a symbol of solidarity for Palestine, as its red-green color and black seeds resemble the Palestinian flag.

Nancy Tyagi, an Indian influencer, stole the show at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 with her stunning, self-made pink outfit. Nancy Tyagi, who hails from a tiny hamlet in Uttar Pradesh, rose to prominence for her ability to create eye-catching designer outfits from scratch while staying within a budget. She takes her fans on a creative journey that includes fabric choosing and laborious sewing of delicate items.

"It feels weird to walk the red carpet at the 77th Cannes Film Festival as a debutante. I put my heart and soul into making this pink gown, which took 30 days, 1,000 meters of cloth, and weighed more than 20 kilograms. The trek was difficult, but each moment was worthwhile. I'm overjoyed and grateful for everyone's love and support. This is a dream come true, and I hope my invention astounds you as much as your encouragement has inspired me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!" Nancy commented on Instagram.
