Ground Zero - A Raw and Realistic Presentation of Kahsmir
After a 2 years break, Emraan Hashmi has returned to the big screen with film ‘Ground Zero.’ The film is released on 25 April 2025. After the first show, this film has been trending on social media platforms. The film was completed with a budget of Rs.20-25 crore. The critics had expected the film to earn an opening of Rs.80-90 lakh, but the first day opening has earned a total of Rs.37 lakh. The reason for this might be the mixed reviews the film is getting across all the platforms.
Ground Zero is a depiction of real events that happened with BSF officer Narendranath Dubey, played by Emraan Hashmi. The movie sheds light on Dubey’s operation against Ghazi Baba in 2003. Along with Emraan Hashmi, Sai Tamhankar, and Zoya Hussain are cast in major roles. The film is directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deokar. The film is made under the banner of Excel Entertainment, with producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The Indian television host, Siddharth R. Kanna commented about the film on his X account, “Just watched #GroundZero and must say it is the most relevant reality of Kashmir! It’s absolutely raw and deeply rooted in truth! This film showcases a true story of BSF’s finest operations carried out in the past 50 years! I think every Indian needs to watch this!”
While few of the audience have stated that the film has a very basic storyline, most of the viewers are appreciating the film for its raw and realistic showcase of Kashmir's situation. The film is trending in BookMyShow, with 8.85K tickets being booked in the past 24 hours. Film is expected to see more bookings because of the coming weekend, the present terror attack, and word-of-mouth promotion.
