Galaxy Racer (GXR), a transmedia company based in Dubai, has secured the rights to top European soccer leagues in Spain, Italy, and France for the Indian subcontinent.

The GXR app will offer live streams of Spain's LaLiga, Italy's Serie A—including the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa—and France’s premier Ligue 1 along with the second-tier Ligue 2.

The agreement with LaLiga will last for six years, while the contracts with Serie A and Ligue 1 will span four years.

GXR will broadcast matches from all three leagues live on a free-to-air basis for fans in the Indian subcontinent.

The content will soon be available in several regional languages, including Bengali, Malayalam, and Hindi.

In addition to live streaming, GXR will provide users with an immersive fan experience through its Super App.

The platform will feature fan engagement tools, news, chat functionalities, and real-money gaming.

With media rights for three of Europe’s premier leagues, GXR aims to establish itself as “the largest European soccer rights holder in India.”

GXR’s rights agreement with LaLiga marks an expansion of their existing partnership, which began in 2022 with a long-term joint venture (JV) focused on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as well as the Indian subcontinent.

Under a 15-year deal, GXR acts as LaLiga’s local partner in these regions, with the league anticipating over €3 billion ($2.5 billion) in revenue from the collaboration.

LaLiga and GXR, founded in 2019 by Roy, each hold a 50% stake in the UAE-based entity, which serves as the media rights agency for broadcasting and media rights in the MENA market and Indian subcontinent.
