FIFA President Thanks Z for Expanding Football's Reach in India
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has thanked Z for helping expand football's reach in India through year-round coverage and public screenings ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.
In a special video message, Infantino praised Z for taking football beyond traditional television. He highlighted the broadcaster's authorized public screenings at cinemas, pubs, restaurants, airports, and hotels.
Infantino said the partnership covers 39 FIFA competitions, including the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027, FIFA youth tournaments, futsal competitions, and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. He added that the collaboration has helped present football as a continuous sporting property for Indian audiences rather than an event held every four years.
Responding to the message, Z's Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Punit Goenka, thanked FIFA for its continued trust and partnership ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final.
Goenka described the collaboration as a defining milestone in Z's efforts to strengthen football's presence in India. He said the partnership has brought the sport closer to millions of fans while supporting the growth of India's football ecosystem.
