Elon Musk Claims that X will Become Earth's Group Chat
Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, claimed on Monday that the majority of traffic on his social media platform X comes from across the globe, transforming it into a group chat for Earth.
Globally, X now has 600 million monthly active users (MAUs).
Musk wrote, "X is the group chat for Earth."
"X is a global town square for the people," said a user.
Another user remarked, "New X feature inbound... Earth Chat."
The goal of the internet mogul, who paid $44 billion to purchase X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2022, is to transform the platform into a "everything app" that allows users to upload videos and TV series in addition to making digital payments.
Additionally, Musk asserted that the US is seeing an all-time high in X usage.
"In the US, approximately 76 billion user-seconds were recorded, surpassing the previous record by 5%," declared the owner of X.
According to a March X study, users are averaging 30 minutes a day on the network.
In October 2022, Twitter was essentially a 140-character messaging service until Musk bought it.
Approximately 3,500 artists were using the platform at the time of its $44 billion acquisition.
