Donald Trump has Announced an Interview with Tesla CEO Elon Musk
Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the US Presidential Election in November, has stated that he would be questioned by Tesla CEO Elon Musk next week. Trump made the statement on Truth Social, a social media network he formed after the former president was banned by Facebook and Twitter. "On Monday night, I will have a huge interview with Elon Musk. "Details will follow," Trump wrote.
Kamala Harris leads in opinion polls
The discovery comes at a time when, for the first time, surveys show Trump behind Democratic competitor Kamala Harris.
Among recent opinion surveys, SurveyUSA showed Harris three points ahead of Trump, 48%-45%, while Morning Consult put her four points ahead (48%-44%). Harris also led by one point, 50%-49%, in YouGov and CBS News polls, and by three points, 46%-43%, in a survey conducted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
How the Trump campaign lost momentum
With the Democratic Party campaign re-energized by President Joe Biden's unprecedented decision to step aside and nominate his deputy, Kamala Harris, as presidential candidate, the Trump campaign has gradually lost the lead it held at the start of the election.
The Trump team, which had previously focused aggressively on Biden's old age and fears about his bad health, is now under similar scrutiny. If elected, Trump, at 78, would be the oldest president in US history. Harris, on the other hand, is significantly younger at 59 years old and has a large following among young people.
Trump's appeal on social media
Trump, on the other hand, has been going to great lengths to rally support.
Trump was recently questioned by live streamer Adin Ross, who allegedly helped the streaming site 'Kick' smash its viewership record. In the interview, Trump also defended TikTok, a Chinese social media platform on which he declared war while in office.
Ties between Trump and Musk
Trump's next interview, which will most likely be live-streamed on X, is yet another attempt to address his supporters on familiar territory.
Notably, X's owner Musk has thrown his entire support behind Trump's candidacy, reposting several messages critical of Harris's campaign. Musk has reportedly promised USD 45 million per month to a new political action group that supports Trump.
