Disha Patani, Shreya Ghoshal, and Karan Aujla to Light Up IPL 2025 Opener

The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League begins at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on March 22, 2025 as its grand opening event. Popular actor Disha Patani will join forces with singers Shreya Ghoshal and Karan Aujla during the opening ceremony performance. The official social media pages of IPL have started the hype by revealing exciting previews to the forthcoming season.

The soulful singer Shreya Ghoshal will present her magical voice at the event to celebrate 18 years of IPL history. Global sensation Karan Aujla will deliver an energetic show at the event while movie star Disha Patani will enhance the glamor of the evening. The ceremony will introduce a two-month cricket festival which will reach its peak when the final match takes place at the same location on May 25.

The inaugural match of the tournament will take place at Eden Gardens where Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Eden Gardens is set to welcome the IPL final for the first time since 2015 when the previous match was held there. The stadium is also scheduled to hold Qualifier 2 on May 23.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declared IPL 2025 will have 74 matches across 65 days, with 12 consecutive match days. The match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 23 will continue their historic competition at the tournament.

Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals together with Punjab Kings have established two main home stadiums for their games. Rajasthan Royals will host two matches in Guwahati and the remaining games will take place at Jaipur while Delhi Capitals will distribute their fixtures between Arun Jaitley Stadium and Visakhapatnam. Punjab Kings are scheduled to hold four matches at Chandigarh Stadium and three matches at Dharamsala Stadium.
