Dinesh Karthik Appointed as the New Batting Coach and Mentor for RCB
Dinesh Karthik, a former Indian wicketkeeper who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket a month ago, has joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru as their new batting coach and mentor.
"Welcome our keeper in every respect, Dinesh Karthik, back to RCB in a whole different avatar. "DK will be the batting coach and mentor of the RCB Men's team," RCB said on X.
The wicketkeeper-batsman made 257 IPL matches, accumulating 4,842 runs at an average of 26.32. In addition to RCB, Karthik has previously played for the Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Daredevils, and Kings XI Punjab.
"As a new chapter in my life, coaching at the professional level excites me and is something I am genuinely enthusiastic about. "Hopefully, the breadth of my experience as a player can contribute to the group's development and add value," Karthik said after being named the batting coach and mentor of his former squad.
