Darksiders 4 Revealed: The Four Horsemen Team Up for an Epic Adventure

THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games just dropped big news: Darksiders 4 is coming, and it’s bringing the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse together for the first time!

Announced during THQ Nordic’s 2025 showcase with an awesome teaser trailer, this sequel picks up right where the original 2010 Darksiders left off. Fans have been waiting 15 years for this moment, and it looks like it’s going to be worth it.

The game takes you back to a post-apocalyptic Earth, packed with lore and chaos. It’s a third-person action-adventure, mixing intense combat, smooth movement, and tricky puzzles.

You’ll get to play as War, Death, Fury, or Strife, each with their own unique vibe—think War’s massive Chaoseater sword, Death’s quick scythes, Fury’s magical whip, or Strife’s dual pistols, Mercy and Redemption. Plus, there’s online co-op for up to four players, so you can team up with friends (though we’re still waiting to hear if split-screen is an option).

The story dives into the cliffhanger from the first game, where War was wrongly blamed for starting the Endwar. According to the game’s Steam page, expect huge, secret-filled worlds, tough enemies, and epic boss fights that look absolutely jaw-dropping.

Gunfire Games, made up of folks who worked on the original Darksiders at Vigil Games, is pulling out all the stops. The game keeps the series’ hack-and-slash roots but adds some Metroidvania and Soulslike twists for good measure.
