Coldplay to Perform a Concert in Mumbai: Date and Venue details Revealed

The British rock band Coldplay is set to return to India for a concert in 2025. Their first concert was in 2016 when they performed at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai. This time, they'll perform their first-ever concert in the city as part of their Music of the Spheres tour, which began in 2022. Throughout the tour, Coldplay has played in numerous locations globally, the continents like Asia, Latin America, Europe, North America, and Australia.

According to a statement from the entertainment platform BookMyShow Live, Coldplay will perform in Mumbai at DY Patil Stadium on January 18 and 19, 2025. A special mystery guest will be revealed in the coming weeks. Tickets will be available for purchase starting September 22 at 12 PM IST.

A statement said that, “Coldplay has confirmed that a limited number of Infinity Tickets will be available for the shows at 12 PM (IST) on Friday, November 22, 2024.” Infinity Tickets are offered for each Coldplay concert to make the Music of the Spheres World Tour available  to fans at an easily accessible price. Priced at approximately €20 (Rs 2000) each, these tickets must be purchased in pairs and are limited to two per buyer, with seats located next to each other. The specific locations will be revealed when fans collect their tickets in person at the box office on the day of the show, and seating can range throughout the venue from the floor to upper levels, including side-view seats and everything in between.

In contrast, their 2016 performance in India lasted under 10 minutes, during which lead vocalist Chris Martin sang alongside AR Rahman and influenced the audience in Hindi. 

For those who may not know, Coldplay released Music of the Spheres in 2021, an album inspired by cosmic themes. They also collaborated with artists like BTS on the single "My Universe," which became a global sensation.Coldplay's music is recognized for its blend of soft and melodic rock, with lyrics that explore themes of love, life, and pain. Their early albums, including A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002) and X&Y (2005), solidified their status as one of the leading alternative rock bands. They achieved tremendous success with later albums, such as Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends(2008), which earned them multiple Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year for "Viva la Vida."
